Psychological Mechanisms of Cognitive Warfare on Decision Making
Curator note
The landscape of modern warfare is evolving, expanding beyond physical confrontations into the information, psychological, and cognitive domains. Cognitive warfare aims to manipulate and disrupt the adversary's cognitive abilities and decision-making processes. The present paper explores the psychological mechanisms of heuristics and cognitive biases in the context of military decision-making and provides insights into how cognitive warfare
strategies are formulated and how they influence combatant behavior.
Additionally, the present paper emphasizes the need for future research to elucidate the roles of specific brain regions in the decision-making processes associated with cognitive warfare. Consequently, this paper contributes to a deeper understanding of the psychological aspects of cognitive warfare and offers directions for enhancing decision-making in military operations.
