Abstract

The contribution, starting from the ruling of the Constitutional Court of Romania that annulled the first round of the 2024 presidential elections, examines the main legal profiles relating to the impact of disinformation and hybrid cognitive warfare on liberal democratic constitutional systems. The decision in question, relating to the correct conduct of the elections, proposes a series of reflections regarding the defense of liberal democracy and the related legal and institutional institutes that can be used. © 2025, Societa Editoriale Federalismi s.r.l..
